Sonos Play Series

Client: Sonos
Project: Play:5
Role: Lead Sound Designer
Designing the Sound of Sonos:
Sound for a brand like Sonos isn't just about sound design, it’s about defining a premium user experience through audio. For this project, the focus was on creating a cohesive sonic identity that felt as high-fidelity and seamless as the hardware itself.
Whether I’m working on global commercial campaigns for brands like Covergirl or crafting the sound design for Apple Design Award winners like Flighty, my goal is the same: to create a signature sound that is instantly recognizable.
The Detail: The Sonos Play:5 Touch Strip
A standout feature of this project was the development of the innovative touch strip for the Sonos Play:5. Beyond the intuitive physical controls, the true challenge was the auditory feedback. I meticulously crafted subtle sound cues to confirm user actions—ensuring the signals were unobtrusive yet satisfying.
This is the magic of sound design in technology: creating an engaging user experience that feels completely seamless and natural.
