The Statue Of Liberty

Case Study:

As the sound designer and composer for the Statue of Liberty app, I had the exciting opportunity to blend interactive design with strong narrative and a rich, authentic sense of place. This led to the creation of user interface sounds, augmented reality (AR) environmental sounds, and a musical score for the timelapse footage.

  • User Interface (UI) Sounds: Auditory cues for the user interface. Each tap, swipe, and button press was paired with unique, subtle sound that enhanced user engagement and contributed to an immersive digital environment.

  • Augmented Reality Environmental Sounds: Designing an immersive AR soundscape that replicated the experience of standing on Liberty Island. Incorporating elements such as the sound of waves, the distant hum of New York City, and the cries of seagulls, The goal was to provide a realistic and compelling environmental audio experience.

  • Music for Timelapse Footage: One of the most challenging yet rewarding components of the project was scoring the music for the unique timelapse footage. This footage provided a first-person perspective from the eyes of the Statue of Liberty, spanning an impressive range of history from 1800 to the present day.
